10 reasons why we love short wedding dresses...

1. The LOOK: It's got personality! Trendy or classic, sweet or sexy, retro or mod.

2. Legs! Got a less than taut tummy? Feeling a little hopelessly hippy? Your legs look good. REALLY good! You know it, he knows it...Let everyone else in on it. Show off your god-given, gorgeous assets.

3. Location, location, location... City Hall, chapels, beaches and bluffs. Redwood groves, your parent's backyard, and Vegas! Completely appropriate for any of the above.

4. Comfortable and cool. No train, No dragging hem. No sweating thighs. Want to swing dance with your honey on the big day? Kick up your heels! Got a tot or two already in tow? Keep up with the kids, no problem! Want to wade in the surf in wedded bliss...go to it!

5. Fun, or formal. It's festive and easy for barbecue-in-the- backyard weddings and easy to move around in if you are getting married at your favorite Italian restaurant. It's also chic and sophisticated for a 5 o'clock wedding, dinner and reception in the wine country...Or, you could totally bling it up for that New Year's Eve wedding at The San Francisco City Club.

6. Affordable. Surprisingly, not all of them are as inexpensive as you might think... But they sure can be! If you want to spend under $1000? Under $500? ...it get's a whole lot easier! Not to mention, you'll spend less on alterations, since there will be no need to hem 10 -12 layers of satin, tulle or lace just to be able to walk...It's already off.

7. A second life for your wedding dress. Maybe you scoff at the idea of wearing your wedding dress again, and once is enough. I got to meet Chloe for the first time at a dear friend's wedding up in Olema, CA. Super cool, super down to earth. I had no idea at the time that she was a professional photographer with an extensive background not only in the world of commercial and fashion photography, but wedding photography as well. She wasn't the 'hired' photographer for that day (being a guest and close friend of the bride and groom) but when the hired photographer was late (eek!!) she was there with both her polaroid and digital camera..SAVING THE DAY!

It turns out she is a tremendous photographer, with a really beautiful portfolio. And she can accommodate non-celebrity budgets! (Though she can also accommodate celebrity budgets. FALL PROMO!! Calling all 2011 Brides!

We know, we know!! It's not even the fourth of July yet... But the Fall Promo for bridesmaids is too terrific to miss. If you plan early, you can save your dear friends a LOT of money by ordering your bridesmaid dresses before the holidays. (Your girlfriends will appreciate this...REALLY!)

Lest you think ordering before the holidays sounds nuts ("I'm not getting married until June! I don't need to order in November") consider this:
All fall promo orders typically arrive into our store mid-March. For late May and early June Weddings, this is the perfect amount of time ahead of your wedding date (8 weeks)!
Early spring weddings may even want to order a little sooner. Later weddings will have plenty of time to pat themselves on the back for being so on top of their game.

Also, ordering later than November, which usually means in December or January to avoid rush fees, can be challenging for brides. In December, bridesmaids are tricky to track down! Everyone is usually travelling, and busy with family and in January everyone's broke. You will quickly see, checking this off your list early is actually doing yourself a favor too.

As for the SAVINGS, Fall promo is an additional $20 discount, in addition to any quantity discounts your wedding party may be eligible for.

Consider a 4 gal wedding party and a $250. dress:

$250 - $25. quantity discount -$20. fall promo= $205!! You save your bridesmaids $45. EACH, (or, $180. total.)

Remember, a $250 dress bumping down to $205, 100% silk and locally made is a huge, huge HUGE value. (They're really cute , too!)
