Working in makeup artistry since 2000, San Francisco native Tamra-Marie Johnson has built an extensive background in the field of beauty. Though her gutsy spirit led her to Los Angeles for three years to further expand her skills and industry knowledge, she has recently returned to her roots in the Bay Area.

Tamra-Marie has trained with industry brands including NARS, MAC and Laura Mercier Cosmetics. While living in Los Angeles, she showcased her creative talents in runway shows, commercials, fashion editorials, red carpet appearances and celebrity photo shoots.

Tamra-Marie prides herself on giving her clients a fresh, clean and glamourous look, saying, ”Sure, makeup is about art, but it’s also about giving proper attention to features and how to accentuate your complexion. My beauty philosophy has always been ‘less is more,’ but a radiant face with a hot pink lip can give the unexpected. On the runway, makeup may create an edgy feeling but in real life it can help promote confidence.”

To date, her clientele includes models, actors, and designers, as well as the everyday woman that wants a polished look... She is consistently requested because of her talents, industry experience and a client-first attitude.

In her spare time, you can find Tamra-Marie collaborating with photographers, traveling, shopping vintage boutiques, and uncovering just what is the best darn mascara on earth(?).

Even before Victoria at Milkfed Press made the most lovely birth announcement for The Wedding Party's latest addition, baby Dylan, we have been HUGE fans of this local letterpress artist.

Simple wedding gown....Should I wear a veil?

Some of Nicole Miller's wedding gowns are so simple and sexy, I am often asked by brides, "What style of veil should I wear with this?" In particular, I hear this from women who are getting married on the beach or in a family member's backyard, or any venue in which the formality of a full-length veil may seem a bit out of sync with the more casual vibe of the ceremony. We love forgoing the veil altogether, in favor of the romantic Billie Holiday-style flower-behind-the-ear look. And, check out this super chic "birdcage veil" alternatives by Leah C. Millinery!

We recently had the privilege of meeting local artist and couture knitwear designer Loretta Warner:
The yarns are hand-spun, and hand-dyed; the shawls are hand loomed-- This is an incredibly precious accessory for brides and mothers who appreciate the detail work, and want to introduce a unique element to the their ensembles!
